Mount Pleasant is South Carolina’s fourth largest city.

Welcome to Mt. Pleasant

The gateway to the beautiful beaches at Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms, Mount Pleasant is South Carolina’s fourth largest city. Some key neighborhoods to focus on in Mount Pleasant include the following:

Old Village - The Town of Mount Pleasant was established by the incorporation of five delightful English villages dating back to the late 1700’s that developed close to Shem Creek along the harbor. The Old Village is a glimpse back into those days with white clapboard historical homes close to the bustling Shem Creek where working shrimp boats, fishing charters and pleasure craft intermingle with diners at Red’s Ice House, Tavern & Table and Saltwater Cowboys. Deep waterfront homes and historic grand/cottage properties dominate here.

I’On - Founded in 1995 and threaded between the marshes of the Wando River and Hwy 17 I’On is new urbanist town designed with classical Charleston architecture on a grid of small, “traffic calming” streets. Another area where the pace dramatically slows so you can enjoy sidewalks, shared green space, trails and superbly designed landscaping and amenities. The community features an environmental habitat The Rookery, crab docks, an outdoor amphitheater and the I’On Club with tennis, aquatics and a gym. It is also home to the East Cooper Montessori Charter School (grades 1-8). Close by is Whole Foods, Trader Joes and many amenities along Hwy 17. The I’On Square has several restaurants for a walk-to community feel.

Carolina Park is a 1,700-acre master-planned community where recreation, shopping, education and gracious family living all reside in a unique park-like setting. Several school options are available in this neighborhood. From the close-knit, traditional neighborhoods of The Village to the stunning custom and luxury homes in Riverside, Carolina Park is more than Mount Pleasant's fastest-growing community and offers a CostCo, many dining and other everyday amenity items just outside off Hwy 17.
