Formed by the developers of Daniel Island, Point Hope was once Cainhoy Plantation and was annexed into the City of Charleston within Berkeley County. Point Hope Charleston creates a conservation-minded bridge between the land’s natural resources and historic legacy and its vibrant future. Half of the community’s 9,000 acres will remain undeveloped as permanently protected wetlands, buffers and natural areas. And of the 4,500 acres of highland that will be developed, approximately 1,000 acres will become parks, trails and open space that are open to the public. Sources say when completed the community will be three times larger than Daniel Island.
